Biography

Born in London, England, in 1955, Grossmann moved to Canada and became a pivotal figure in the Vancouver art scene in the 1980s. She rose to national prominence as a member of the "Young Romantic" painters, a group credited with revitalizing figurative painting in Canada. She received her fine arts education at Emily Carr University of Art + Design and later earned an MFA from Concordia University in Montreal. She currently lives and works in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she also teaches.
